If your house was on fire

What would you grab if your house was on fire and you had to get out fast? Beyond our family, most of us would say our photos.

As I was preparing to go to Tanzania, I was ordering photos of Food for His Children families that have been taken over the years. Some were formatted differently so I had to order a different size. The price went from $.15 to $.58 each. I hesitated, wanting to be a good steward with donor resources. Then God spoke to me. He reminded me how precious a family photo is to me, how priceless. Every one of the families we work with is work well over $.58 to give them a photo.

In a country where 1 out of 6 children die before the age of 5, you bet a photo is priceless to them. Imagine if you didn't have any photos of your children as babies and never had a photo of your family. What a treasure to receive a 'simple' photo.

I would so love to give every one of them an 8 x 10 portrait of their family. One that would not bend or be damaged by the conditions of a mud and stick home. My heart has been so struck by this simple thing that we take for granted, but would be an absolute treasure to our families. Donate here to make this possible.
