Sponsor a family in Tanzania: Helping rural communities find a path from poverty to self-reliance.

The Food for His Children Model: Restoring Families, Renewing Communities

The Food for His Children Model is a Christ-centered, relationship-driven approach that equips families in rural Tanzania to break free from extreme poverty and become all God created them to be. Rather than offering handouts, we walk with families through a transformational journey that restores relationships—with God, self, others, and creation.

Each family is paired with a dedicated Case Manager who provides coaching, prayer, accountability, and Scripture-based encouragement. Families receive training in dairy goat management for nutrition and income, climate-smart and vertical agriculture, livestock care, discipleship, and business education through Street Business School.

We help families identify their strengths, resources, and God-given gifts—empowering them to solve problems within their own communities instead of depending on outside aid. As families grow in skills, confidence, and faith, they begin to thrive and often become leaders who help others do the same.
This integrated, relationship-based model moves families from survival to stability, to sustainability, and ultimately to multiplication—transforming not just homes, but entire communities from the inside out.

Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH): Building Healthy Homes in Rural Tanzania

Families thrive when they have access to clean water, safe sanitation, and healthy home environments. At Food for His Children, WASH is woven into every part of our ministry—from goat farming to agriculture, discipleship, and community coaching. These two models show how we equip families with practical, life-changing tools to protect their health and build a foundation of dignity and hope.

We believe that all poverty is rooted in one of four broken relationships: between you and God, yourself, others, or creation. Faith & Discipleship services help families reconnect with their Creator. Through prayer, teaching, and encouragement, they learn that they are valued, loved, and made for a purpose. Restoring this first foundational relationship carries over into the other three relationships, restoring families and communities to a place of personal and experiential abundance.

Every family has dreams. Through Case Management and Goal Planning, families begin transforming those dreams into reality. Entrepreneurship training and Street Business School give them confidence. They start feeling empowered, believing they can make change happen.
The families we serve are not in a one-time emergency – they face daily, generational struggles rooted in poverty, broken systems, and limited access to resources. What’s needed is not relief, but development.

When trying to help, it’s important to ask whether the support offered will empower people or create unintended harm. Relief is essential during crises and disasters, but when families are not in crisis—as is true for most FFHC families—development and rehabilitation are what lead to lasting change. That’s why we are careful never to do for families what they can do for themselves. We work in ways that strengthen dignity, avoid dependency, and honor each person’s God-given abilities.

At Food for His Children, we walk alongside families who are already working hard to care for their children and build a better future. When they receive a dairy goat and ongoing coaching, they gain the tools and support they need to amplify their efforts, grow their income, and restore what’s been broken. Over time, lives and communities are transformed—not through handouts, but through hope, faith, and sustainable change.

Jesus replied: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.
